Calitys is a collaboration between the Sardinian duo Mara Lasi & Daniele Serra, also known as Medusa's Spell, and Lithuanian sound artist Daina Dieva. Their epistolary exchange takes the shape of sombre solastalgic songs.

All the tracks blend nicely into one good sonic experience. The feeling of grief sounds not as a painful but as an existential one. Daina Dieva signature voice brings an ethereal quality that makes the listening experience unique. The III track reminded me of the band Raguvos and their song Lapė.

The chanting field recording material could have created a strong base for the album. Unfortunately out of 3 hours of material one hears the chanting for a few minutes and it is distorted to the point of being incomprehensible. The soundscapes seem very familiar to the genre to the point of being boring. Other realeases of Daina Dieva are a lot more intriguing and recommended.
